Celebrating birthdays and mama’s day in Seattle

Posted on

You and I joined Oma in Chicago and traveled together to Seattle to celebrate Amy and Lizzy’s birthdays as well as Mother’s Day together. (I served on the committee for a doctoral student at UW, so we went also so I could be at her defense.)

We had such a GREAT time!! Oma and Auntie Amy played LOTS of Scrabble – sometimes together on Oma’s iPad. You and Lizzy were inseparable – taking care of the horses, swimming (and dancing) in/by their pool, and playing mine craft. We cheered Lizzy on at synchronized swimming and drama read-aloud at Barnes and Noble. I ran the hills near their house multiple mornings, and we went out to eat to celebrate the birthdays. 🙂

A cute Frankenstein…

Posted on

I know what I want to be for Halloween, Mama.

What Sweetie?

A cute Frankenstein.

Huh. Alright.

I call Daddy, “You taking care of Halloween costume?”
Daddy: “Yes, I got it.”
Me: “You know that she wants to be a cute Frankenstein.”
Daddy: “Yes, she told me.”
Me: “So you got this?”
Daddy: “Yes, I got it….”
Daddy: “Do you have any ideas?”
I chuckle. Cause it seems very challenging to me! So I research it.

I find this picture and get the idea that maybe you can work with Ms. Christina to sew it yourself – so I did, and you did. I was very proud of you!!

What did you do with your day off?

Way back in September, you had a day off of school… We had such an awesome day together. You made a plan and carefully checked off all the items. One minor crash midway through the day, which was quickly cured with a hot dog from a street vendor. 🙂
