I can’t possibly keep up!

You are growing like a weed – you can do more and more and more every day. You understand more and more and more every day. It’s all just so crazy… and fun!!

Yesterday, you zipped up your own coat. Just plain crazy.

You get dressed by yourself, you crack the wittiest of jokes, you can spell many words without help… When did this happen? So seems like overnight.

The other day I desperately pleaded, “Baby, do you think when you drink that red juice, that you could maybe get more in your mouth and less on your upper lip?!?!?” You responded quite matter-of-factly, without missing a beat, “Kids do that, Mom.”

Right.

So fun – I love being part of your growing up, Peanut Butter. I just love it!

pictures coming soon –

Love you

Hey there Baby Girl…

You, your Daddy, Daddy Jim, Madeline, Daniel and I ALLLLL went over to Aunti Judi & Uncle Jim’s for our traditional Christmas Eve dinner… It was so great for us to all be together for that – Your Aunti Judi and Uncle Jim have a beautiful gift of nurturing the development of family among many unrelated people. We are so grateful they are in our lives.

But before dinner, we went to the Christmas Play at church – and you were a STAR!!!! Check it out!!! (The first 2 pictures were from rehearsal – you can find you by looking for stipey pants. the third picture is from the performance.)

Jimmiqua, you and I and, of course, your doggie Macy (who is now 9 years old) headed to Ellison Park for the day sometime around November 15th… She took all of these wonderful pictures of you – Thanks
Jimmiqua! Highlights: tree climbing, trail blazing, watching Macy swim, and of course – the sand hill. Always so much fun… definitely one of our favorite parks!

a look back to Halloween

So the end of the semester clearly got a way from me…

Before it is more distant, let’s see what I can remember from your Cobblestone Halloween.
* I spent the day with you… helping to set up for your party, having lunch with you, just basically enjoying you and sharing in the fun of the day.
* You and your friends made adorable little bats or spiders to decorate the place and a few of the other Moms went to TOWN on the room – it was spooky and fun!
* Barbie had many fun things planned for the day including a school-wide treasure hunt complete with eye patches for each of you, treasure maps for each of you, and of course, treasure!!
* After all of you show up in your costumes, Barbie and Greg organize a “Fashion Show” by themes…. So you, as “Tinkerbell’s Friend” and Olivia as “Peter Pan” walked the runway together. 🙂
* You also had a fashion parade through all the rooms of the school.
* Your Dad came for the party b/c he heard that you were hoping he would be there.
* And the party was something for sure!! Really great games and activities and the healthiest food I have EVER seen or imagined at a party – especailly for a Halloween party! There was no candy in sight! Crazy.

Here are some pictures from the day!

You and your friends started the day as a pirate –

before I forget

(Back in September I think…)

we had some very treasured time on Wednesday –

it was just you and me as Daddy Jim was on a work trip.

we came home from school, and I had invited you to help me make dinner. We got out of the car and the outdoors sucked you in!

“Mama, play with me outside.”

“I have to start dinner, Baby. It’s 6 o’clock.”

“Come on, Mama – for just 10 minutes?!?!?”

I start to remind you of my grown-up responsibilities, thinking about how you might melt down if you don’t eat soon, but you were so convincing…

Long story short, we laid down next to each other in the grass and watch the clouds roll by. We named the clouds with familiar shapes and giggled hard. What a treasured moment….

Thank you Peanut. I love how you show me so many things I would otherwise miss… And you don’t just help me notice, you help me treasure.
