Sadly, things were still closed due to COVID, but we had a great time doing what we could! We stayed in a sweet AirB&B with high ceilings and in walking distance to so many things.
After a few days in Pittsburgh, we drove to Ohiopyle for white water rafting (see previous post). The log cabin lodge had “Hidden Treasures.” We did treasure seeing this amazing range of animals, while feeling a great ache for their circumstances. Animals should not live their lives in cages.

Makes for a good story -but…
Posted onMakes for a good story, but this is not my finest parenting moment.
On Monday mornings, I make you lunch for you to take to school. One morning, like usual, I packed your lunch with lots of love. As an afterthought, I added a can of soda thinking that would be a great treat.
You checked out your lunch, and I asked – everything look okay? Need anything more?
“No. Looks great, Mama.”
At lunch time, I get a text from you that says, “wrong soda.”
AHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!
I accidentally sent alcohol to high school in your lunch!!!
The next Monday, you sent me this text:
Life. Sigh.
Not sure how old this is…
Posted onBut this is I think the first voicemail message you ever made… your voice is so young and sweet.
I wanted to make sure to save it. You are already so grown up.
Enjoy!
